Last shelter in San Antonio closes after flooding

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — The last of five Red Cross shelters still open since deadly South Texas flooding has closed as recovery continues from the high water.

Officials say the final shelter still serving victims of the May 25 flooding closed Thursday afternoon in San Antonio. The last six people who spent Wednesday night at the shelter have since made other living arrangements.

The Red Cross had operated four shelters in San Antonio and one in Floresville — providing accommodations for more than 150 people since the storm.
