Smith adds G Scott for next season
New Texas Tech basketball coach Tubby Smith signed his third player for the upcoming season Monday when he added Copperas Cove’s Cory Scott.
Scott, 6-foot, 2-inch guard, averaged 24.3 points, 4.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game for the Bulldawgs as a senior, leading Copperas Cove to its first playoff appearance since 2008. He was named the District 8-5A Offensive Player of the Year and first-team all-district. Scott also captured the gold medal in the high jump at the state track meet in May.
