More than 90 people remain displaced and area nonprofits are trying to provide relief after an apartment fire that left eight apartments torched and filled with smoke Monday, May 27, in East Lubbock.
What is unclear is when about 60 of those people whose apartments weren’t made uninhabitable by the fire can return home as officials wait for management at the Spanish Oaks apartments to bring in a licensed electrician to evaluate what Lubbock Deputy Fire Marshal Robert Loveless called unsafe wiring at the complex.
